Had this annoying drip under my kitchen sink for weeks, tried tightening everything, replaced washers, nothing worked. Finally grabbed this silicone-based sealant stuff from the hardware storeβ€”honestly didn't expect much, figured it'd be another waste of money. But surprisingly, it actually did the trick. Easy enough to apply (though kinda messy if you're not careful), and after drying overnight, no more drips. Been about two months now and still holding strong.

Wondering if anyone else has had luck with these silicone sealants or if I just got lucky? Also curious if there's something even better out there I haven't heard of yet...

Used silicone sealant plenty of times, and honestly, it's usually pretty reliable if you prep the surface right. Had a similar drip under my bathroom sinkβ€”tried plumber's putty first, total waste of time. Switched to silicone and haven't looked back since...been dry for years now.

Totally agree silicone is great if you've done your prep right. Have you ever had issues with removal later on though? Had a heck of a time scraping it off once I needed to replace the faucet...
