Bathroom plumbing nightmare—how big a deal is this?

Been there myself—thought I'd swap out an old rusty pipe in our historic bathroom, ended up flooding half the hallway. Older homes make plumbing a whole different beast, honestly...those charming vintage fixtures can hide some seriously tricky surprises. Did your sink issue end up affecting other parts of the bathroom too, or was it contained? Seems like plumbing mishaps have a sneaky way of spreading trouble around.

Couldn't agree more—those vintage fixtures look great until you actually have to fix something. Had a similar issue with our clawfoot tub; thought it'd be a quick fix, but ended up chasing leaks into the wall. Did your hallway flooding cause any lasting damage, or was it mostly cleanup? Hopefully it stayed manageable... plumbing issues in older homes always seem to escalate faster than you'd expect.

Been there myself—hallway flooding from old plumbing is no joke. Had a similar leak behind our vintage pedestal sink; thought it was minor until we found mold hiding behind the wallpaper. Ended up having to rip out drywall and treat everything thoroughly. Curious if anyone else discovered hidden mold or rot issues after what seemed like a simple plumbing fix...?

Had something similar happen, but mold isn't always inevitable. Our leak was bad enough to warp the floorboards, yet somehow no mold or rot—just lucky I guess. Still, better safe than sorry checking behind walls.
