We're finally updating our entryway (yay!) and we're stuck between two totally different looks. Option one is cozy rustic—think warm wood bench, woven baskets, maybe some hooks with vintage-y metal finishes. Very farmhouse-y, welcoming feel. Option two is sleek modern—minimalist console table, clean lines, glossy surfaces, and maybe a striking mirror above. You know, the kind of look that's all over Instagram right now.

I can't decide if we should go warm and inviting or cool and contemporary. If you've done either, I'd love to hear what you liked or regretted about your choice!

I've done both styles for clients, and honestly, both can look great depending on your lifestyle. The rustic farmhouse vibe tends to be more forgiving—especially if you've got kids or pets. Scratches and scuffs just add character, and it's easy to toss shoes into baskets without worrying about messing up the aesthetic. On the flip side, sleek modern looks fantastic when it's tidy, but it can feel cluttered quickly if you're not careful. I've had clients who loved their minimalist entryway initially but found it stressful to maintain daily.

If you're naturally organized and don't mind a bit of upkeep, modern could be perfect. But if you prefer something lower-maintenance and cozy, rustic might suit your day-to-day better. Either way, updating your entryway is always a satisfying project...enjoy the process!
