So last winter my apartment was like a desert, waking up with scratchy throat and static shocks everywhere (seriously, even petting my cat felt risky lol). Bought one of those fancy humidifiers but honestly got tired of cleaning it all the time. Someone told me about just putting a bowl of water near the radiator or heater...sounded too simple, but gave it a shot. Surprisingly, it kinda worked? I mean it's not perfect, but definitely better than before. Curious if anyone else tried this or has other easy hacks that work better.

Haha yep, that's exactly what my grandma used to do in her old Victorian houseβswore by it every winter. I tried it myself after getting fed up with the constant humidifier maintenance (seriously, who has time for that?), and honestly, it works pretty well. Another trick I've found helpful is keeping a few houseplants around; they naturally add moisture to the air, plus bonus points for making the room look nicer.
