Just figured out that using acrylic sheets instead of glass for storm windows is way lighter and easier to handle. Plus, cheaper too. Curious if anyone else has tried different materials and how that turned out?

I've used acrylic sheets before too, and yeah, they're definitely easier to handle. But one thing I noticed is they can scratch up pretty easily over time, especially if you're taking them down and storing them each season. A buddy of mine swears by polycarbonate sheets instead—he says they're tougher and don't scratch as much. Haven't tried them myself yet... anyone here had experience comparing acrylic vs polycarbonate for durability?
